AGFACTS Newsbrief Summary - July 2011

·        The overall trend in year-on-year price changes of agricultural machinery is still upwards.   The current overall year-on-year price reduction in nominal terms is 2.7% (smoothed).

·         The fifth production estimate for commercial maize for the 2010/2011 season is 10.998 million tons.   This is 14.2% less than in the 2009/2011 production season.

·       Year-to-date (6 months to June) tractor sales of 3 068 units are 28.8% up on last year.

·       Year-to-date (6 month) self-propelled combine harvester sales are 11.5% up on last year.
