AGFACTS Newsbrief Summary - October 2011

·       The AGFACTS Tractor Sales Index (smoothed) has been moving steadily upwards since January 2010 when it was 0.85.   It now stands at 1.19.

·       The overall wheat crop is expected to be 1.903 million tons in the 2011 season, 33.1% up on last year.

·       The trend in year-on-year price changes of all categories of agricultural machinery continues to be upwards.   The current overall year-on-year increase in prices (smoothed) is 0.6%.

·       Year-to-date tractor sales (excluding exports) to September 2011 amount to 5 307 units, 43.2% up on the same period last year.

·       Year-to-date self-propelled combine harvester sales (excluding exports) to September 2011 are 24.4% up on those of last year.
