SAAMA Press Release – November 2021

SAAMA Press Release – November 2021

November tractor sales of 742 units were 22% more than the 606 units sold in November last year.   Year-to-date tractor sales are now 25% up on last year.   Combine harvester sales of eight units were four units more than the four units sold in November last year.   On a year-to-date basis combine harvester sales are now 37% up on last year.

Summer crop planting is continuing apace, with much of the summer maize crop having been planted in the east of the country.   Rainfall expectations for the rest of the season are looking good and harvests of a similar nature to last season look probable.   Late rain in the Western Cape is delaying harvesting, but prospects for these crops are also positive.   Industry forecasts indicate that tractor sales for the 2021 calendar could be 25% up on last year.
