Tractor sales in South Africa rose 4% in April 2026, with 548 units sold compared to 527 a year earlier. On a year-to-date basis tractor sales are now almost 3% up on last year. Fifty-two combine harvesters were sold in April, six more than the 46 units sold in April last year. On a year-to-date basis, combine harvester sales are now approximately 9% up on last year.
March tractor sales of 618 units were almost 8% less than the 671 units sold in March last year. On a year-to-date basis, tractor sales are now approximately 2% up on last year. Twenty-nine combine harvesters were sold in March, eight fewer than the 37 units sold in March last year. On a year-to-date basis, combine harvester sales are now approximately 6% up on last year.
February tractor sales of 669 units were 5% more than the 636 units sold in February last year. On a year-to-date basis tractor sales are now approximately 8% up on last year. Thirty-one combine harvesters were sold in February, twelve more than the 19 units sold in February last year. On a year-to-date basis, combine harvester sales are now 50% up on last year.
December tractor sales of 494 units were 11% more than the 444 units sold in December last year. Calendar year 2025 tractor sales of 7 668 units were almost 19% up on the 6 463 units sold in 2024. Seven combine harvesters were sold in December, one more than the six units sold in December last year. Calendar year 2025 combine harvester sales of 207 units were 3% up on the 201 units sold in 2024.
October tractor sales of 857 units were almost 12% more than the 765 units sold in October last year. Year-to-date tractor sales are now almost 21% up on last year. Seventeen combine harvesters were sold in October, eleven less than the 28 units sold in October last year. On a year-to-date basis, however, combine harvester sales are now approximately 8% up on last year.
September tractor sales of 758 units were almost 15% more than the 660 units sold in September last year. Year-to-date tractor sales are now 22% up on last year. Eight combine harvesters were sold in September, nine less than the 17 units sold in September last year. On a year-to-date basis, however, combine harvester sales are now approximately 17% up on last year.
August tractor sales of 700 units were 22% more than the 572 units sold in August last year. Year-to-date tractor sales are now approximately 23% up on last year. Five combine harvesters were sold in August, the same number as were sold in August last year.
Tractor sales of 753 units were almost 34% more than the 563 units sold in July last year. Year-to-date tractor sales are now approximately 23% up on last year. Six combine harvesters were sold in July, two less than the eight units sold in July last year. On a year-to-date basis, combine harvester sales are now almost 27% up on last year.
May tractor sales of 635 units were 12% more than the 566 units sold in May last year. Year-to-date tractor sales are now almost 20% up on last year. Forty-one combine harvesters were sold in May, 16 more than the 25 units sold in May last year. On a year-to-date basis, combine harvester sales are now almost 44% up on last year.
